IDENTIFY YOUR PEST

gophers
    • Gophers are often mistaken for moles. They do not have the huge spade like feet moles, though they can still do a lot of damage.
    • Gopher eyes and ears are barely visible. Their sensitive whiskers and tail make up for that weakness.
    • Gophers are strictly herbivores, eating the roots of trees and plants underground.
    • Gopher holes are crescent shaped.
moles
  • Moles do not eat plants. They feed mainly on earthworms, but also on snails, slugs, millipedes, and centipedes.
  • When moles aren’t foraging for food they are excavating. They push dirt straight up resulting in volcano shaped mounds.
  • Although moles don’t eat plants, they cause damage to lawns and gardens from their tunnels.
voles
  • Voles are often mistaken for gophers. A full grown vole is about the same size as a young gopher.
  • Voles have dark brown fur. Unlike gophers, voles have mouse like ears.
  • Voles are not good diggers like moles and gophers, and usually take over abandoned tunnels.
